We're going to EWR

or rather, he is. Just got the call with the base assignment today and he's been put at EWR. Not the last pick, but definitely not the top choice! Still waiting to be called for IOE.

There's only 3 direct flights a day from SLC to EWR, so it looks like this will end up being a 2 leg commute which blows, but John is putting up an ad for a base trade with someone in LAX or ONT, so hopefully there's someone there who wants to get out.

The one really beneficial thing is that John has a good friend (also a pilot) who lives near EWR and he's hoping to give him some $ and crash with him a few nights/week rather than finding a crashpad and giving the $ to strangers.

We're getting near D-Day (surgery) and I think we're both hoping that he'll get called for IOE on Sunday or Monday, have a 4 day trip and then will be able to be here next Friday for my surgery.
