Default Re: Need an Ohio crashpad quick!

We were first based in Cleveland, but lived in Columbus (2 hour drive) while he was on reserve. He rented at a crash pad for awhile, but it was so dirty. He ended up driving up halfway, so he could make the 2 hour call, but would always call a few hours after reserve start to see if he could get released from scheduling or, he would call the night before to see if there were any trips that he could get put on...

We know a pilot that couldn't afford a room when he first was hired for SWA that slept in a broom closet at the airport. Sometimes, if my hubby is on 2- two days in a row (he commutes from FL to Houston), he will sleep at the airport to save money. I think a lot of pilots saving money sleep at the airport. The good news is that CLE pilots were so nice (at least when we were there). Also, base trading is an option down the road...people are always coming and going in the company, so hopefully, you won't be there too long.

Of course, look out for crazies but it might just work great!

Everyones suggestions were great ! We actually found the "crashpad" on Craiglist....who knew !!!!!!!!!!!
This 39 yr old unmarried NP with an Adopted son from Guatamala responded to our add and she has a home 20min away from the airport and is asking for $150 a month...all utilites included. We are hoping DH gets to bid for trade when his IOE is over (before the 13th) we really want ONT , but at least we have a place for him to stay in the meantime.

I'm still looking for a job, and I'm also applying in Cleveland .

We will be finding out on Wednsday , she'll (the renter) will be picking him up from the aiport and showing him the place. I told him that he had better text me the licence plate numbers, not sure how I feel about some strange woman picking up my husband .....but he can take care of himself I guess, plus $150 a month is so hard to beat.
I'll make sure there's a contract and if its "for real" then we are driving Jeffs car up there this weekend and I will fly home.
