| Admin/Owner ![]() | If you ever wanted to see and/or know, here's a good website for the aviation charts...it's common knowledge and not anything that needs to be kept behind closed doors but it's neat to see the different paths and waypoints (kinda makes it easier to follow along as your listening to ATC as well) www.planningchart.de If anyone knows where the charts are for the domestic routes and so forth, feel free to post I'm using the north atlantic route to learn the charting system myself....

| They are published by the government. You can buy enroute charts, (L-charts for under 18,000ft and J-charts for the jet routes, and regular instrument arrival/departure, approach charts) at any pilot shop. My son just bought a NOS for FL, PR and VI (has every airport that offers an instrument approach) for $3.85 at the ERAU bookstore. Each airline provides them to pilots through Jeppesen-Sandersen. Those ones have more specific things than the ones you can buy in pilot shops, such as gate info, company frequencies, ramp procedures, and stuff like that. The routing a flight is filed for usually pops up on flight aware. If for some reason you wanted to look at the actual chart instead of just looking at that you could get the routing there and then look at the charts. But you have to know how to read the chart! I'm sure Doug must have some old ones around, since some expire every 28 days and some expire every 56 days if I remember right. Not sure if that's what you were talking about or not?? |
