NWA Hiring

I hope I posted this in the right place. If any dh's are interested, NWA announced today that the on-line pilot hiring site should go active for interested pilots today, July 23. They plan to hire roughly 300 within the next 12 months, with new hire classes beginning around October. There will be no flow-thrus until at least Jan. 2008, so they'll be hiring "off the street". I checked on the website and it hasn't been updated yet.....I'm assuming it will today.

it's about time! A lot of people have been wondering why they haven't start till now (esp with all the cancellations)

btw, do you know what the mins are going to be or will that also be posted on the site?

Sorry... as a newbie, I have to ask - what is a flow thru, and what does "off the street" mean??

Flow thru is when an airline has an agreement (usually with its regional I believe) that pilots with seniority in the Regional can move up to the mainline...and in the event of cuts can go back down to the regional rather than being furloughed.

Off the street means not from within the company's regionals.

I work for Pinnacle and I believe earlier this month they plucked the last furloughed Northwest guy from us. Lots of pilots go from here to Northwest.

I sure hope they start hiring like mad.. they are one of my boyfriend's top picks since he's stuck here in Detroit with me.

I just went to the site and saw that it's all posted there. Except one requirement they left out.......all new hires have to move to DTW base and live in Ann Arbor. Just kidding...wishful thinking!

hahaha.. Detroit base to some of these new guys that work for Pinnacle are like death sentences.. Everybody wants to be based in Memphis.. their most senior base.
