This is probably it's own poll, but how many of our SO's
have paid for training of some sort (and I would include SWA that makes you get a type before being hired) or signed promissory notes to repay the company for training received on the job?

I've got a Girlfriend that's been hired on with Mesa in early April and already went through training, waited for 2 and 1/2 months to go her Sim training , I feel so bad for her, at least she's been paid while she's waited on them.
Her DH started with EXJ same month and he's already based in Ontario and doing well as a FO.

I'll have to check with him on that though... maybe he did have to pay something...

If it makes you feel any better my husband didnt get his last paycheck either!! That's just mesa!!

They are going to resend it. He'll probably owe a few thousand but we have no idea yet. Nick sent an email to their legal saying that his last 2 paychecks were held and that they should consider his debt paid.

After talking to some other guys he found out that Mesa probably won't go after anyone legally. I mean come on! The CEO has 14 cars (and motorcycles) and a bunch of house all around the world and they are going after the pilots for a few thousand each?!

Yeah, Mesa has deteriorated BIG TIME. The stories I hear from D are just unbelievable. All he does is fly, commute, do standups, eat (sometimes), and sleep (rarely). He's quitting tomorrow, in fact. He got offered a job teaching groundschool at his old flight school. He's going to get the certifications and take it--the pay is better and he can have a LIFE again.

The only reason he ever joined Mesa was because they were the only place who would hire him--he was straight out of flight school with pretty low hours, too low even for Mesa, but they are desperate I suppose. He has PLENTY of hours now though. But he just wants to get out of it for a while. They took so much of the pleasure of flying away.

Regardless of how many cars or houses the CEO of the company may have, a contract is a contract. A few thousand dollars from EACH person breaking their contract would add up very quickly.
