Well, the Friday flight from PIT-EWR was booked to 32/50 this morning. Now it is booked to 50/50! Probably won't end up going.

That is true...although it seems those flights are pretty booked as well...and if you have an early enough show, it can be difficult. Luckily, it has never had to come to that.....yet!

We are also lucky BOS is only a 40min drive....but parking in BOS is insanely high....

I guess it's November travel to Minn--that's our limit!

Even the off peak times are sold out. DH's airline practically gives them away--but you have to pay for the other half of the ticket. So it all works out--the passenger feels like they got a deal; the airline gets a reasonable r/t fare and a new customer who brags about it (I've heard it--even people on other airlines talking about it).

no matter where you go, nonrevving in the summertime is just never easy!! I'm still gonna try to get to a few places this summer but i never absolutely bet on it until i'm actually on the plane. It's always a "watch and see"

Yeah, on the plane AND the door is shut!

Ha... I got to see my SO sitting on the tarmac in his plane (an ERJ 50 seater) during boarding and the desk ladies began boarding nonrevs/standby folks... the last standby/nonrev guy got all the way to the stairs and they ran and pulled him back because a revenue passenger made it to the gate and bumped him... felt really sorry for the bumpee. He handled it very gracefully, but oi, that would suck! But seriously, until the door's shut behind me... I'm not going to count on making it either!!

you are SO right.. i forgot about the door being shut...nothing more humilitating than sitting down with all your stuff tucked away and someone comes on board, calls your name and you have to get OFF the flight... yes, did happen...it was a hated situation.

so yes, making sure the door is shut is not a bad thing - altho you can't txt people that your on the plane if the door is shut.

Yesterday was a nightmare for us! We just got back from Cancun, and the flight from CUN to DFW was easy enough, even though it was two hours late. But getting from DFW to STL was a disaster. It took us four flights to get home, numerous gate and aircraft changes for a couple of the flights, one flight they called us for, and then pulled us off after we had gotten settled (DH and DD did not handle that well), and then we finally got the second to last flight home. We left the hotel at 8:00 am, and didn't get back to the house until about 1:00 am. Such a long day!
