Default Hubby's schedule?

SO, I am just curious,,,, How many of you out there are lucky enough to have DH flyinh 3 on 4 off? I can't wait til he gets senior enough to hold that,, right now he is able to hold 4 on, three off with weekends, so it's nice because I am off on weekends and that gives us quality time together. But I bet it is really nice to only be gone 2 nights at a time.

We just got there ourselves! After upgrading from the 737 to the 757/767, he has been doing all 3 on/4 off. Since DH commutes, the European flying has been great with later shows, and early returns (mid-afternoons). It is a long haul..almost 8 years with CAL to get we we are, hang in there!

We have been very lucky to have that kind of schedule. But, I do have to admit that sometimes transition periods drive me up the wall. Eric had a 4 day at the end of the month, 1 day off and then another 4 day at the beginning of the month. It was NOT fun at all.

My dh's schedule is unfair to compare.
He is a sim instructor/checkairman. He works around 5 hrs a day 4-5 days in a row and is home most nights.
It's a great position BUT sometimes he will report at 4am and work until 10am or report at 8pm and release at 2am. Those are the worst time slots to work. Usually he works from 8am-2pm, 12N to 6pm or 4pm to 10pm. He gets no less than the contract mimimum 12 days off.

We're both hoping that he gets hired by a major and get to move on - we know to enjoy this schedule now because reserve could be right around the corner!

But when he did fly the line, he preferred to work 4 days on/3 days off. At that time they were the most productive trips.

YUCK! See, I am so lucky that with Eric being a Chk A. he just flies the line, times out just about every 30/7, when he does have 2 back to backs, which does make a nice paycheck, but half the time his schedule gets changed because of something. He would go insane if he was at fligt safety just looking at the scare box!

Three on and four off...that sounds so nice. My H has about 11 days off a month right now. With his commute and my 9-5 schedule it gives us about 15 awake hours a week! It's only his 3rd month back at Mesaba after being furloughed last year. It's a challenge, but I think in time there will be benefits. Right???

Things WILL get better! With Mesa I think Nick ws lucky to get 8-10 days off a month. Usually he didn't have more than 2 days off in a row- we were lucky if he had 3 since that's when he would fly to see me.

Now at CAL he has 12 days off each month and is usually 3 on and 4 off. He has had a lot of schedules where he's off 5 days and it makes me jealous!

My DH has only been at SWA since September of 2006 and is now holding 3 days on, 4 off. He was based in Oakland for 3 months, Orlando for 2, and has been in BWI (close to home) ever since. We have never had it this good! It is nice.
