| Thanks for all your help! I was kinda afraid that it'd be hard to figure out stuff like that! Update: he's nearly done with IOE - somehow managed to get 3 days off in the middle of it... and of course, I'm off on a trip with my folks and can't get over to see him!! Guess that's life, though. Mesa's really bad also about how to figure out what to do - my so's called a lot trying to find out and no one seems to know about that... let alone buddy pass info!! oi. But thanks again, I'll let y'all know if I find anything else out!! ![]() |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | Sorry I'm late replying. You're lucky he had time off. Mesa never gave Nick any time. He had 24 hours to move from PHX to PHL one time. That was real nice of Mesa. ![]() Nick got a lot of his info by checking Mesahub. In fact he still posts there and I don't know why! I guess it goes to show the pilot group is awesome... it's just mgt that stinks!

| Update on moving time for any future Mesa folks: He wrangled with crew tracking and the chief pilot to get 5 days to move, then finish IOE in ATL. Now is this normal? I don't know... I would expect the worst and hope for the best. For example, we moved him out from PHX to ATL on a Monday and Tuesday. He let them know Wednesday he'd gotten in. Mesa is bad about getting info to you quickly, so we figured they'd get around to contacting him the following Monday... not so much. They called Thursday and told him to be at the airport Friday. Again, don't take anything for granted: if you want them to do something, they won't and if you don't want them to do something, they will!!! hehe ![]() |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Mesa is GREAT with stuff like that...he's also going to have to memorize his contract/scope rules because they WILL, guaranteed, try to get him to go above scope (meaning they try to bend the rules anywhere, anyway they can) and he'll have to fight them on it and/or remind them of the scope clauses.

| Scope is the agreement between usually major airline pilots and managment regarding how many aircraft they can "outsource". Like how many aircraft Delta can have Comair or any of their other carriers they have agreements with, flying. The stronger/better the scope you have, the more flying/jobs Delta will have instead of the other carriers. The more relaxed/weak your scope policy is, the less flying at your airline, as you allow other carriers to fly your routes, normally at lower wages. You should know your contract well, or at least know where to look or who to call in the union should a problem arise. I don't think it matters where you are, scheduling tries to fill seats and will try just about anything they can! PS Sorry to go off topic! |
