| Going to Pro Standards - consequences? My bf just finished a trip last night (fortunately in one piece) with a CA who is in serious need of being fired. This guy was not only lazy and unprofessional, his actions were unsafe and violated both company and FAA policy. Brian found out during the very first leg that this guy has already had multiple missed trips and sick calls, and has a meeting with the CP soon anyway. How he hasn't gotten fired already is beyond me. Anyway, he feels like if he turns this guy in that he'll be labeled a scab. I told him that calling pro standards is different from going to the chief pilot or something like that - besides, this guy is an accident waiting to happen. He said that if he weren't worried about the consequences it would be a no-brainer. I'll just give you the first example of what this guy did - B met him at the plane (the guy showed up late) and said "Okay, are we ready to go?". No checklist, no briefing. It was the CA's leg to fly and as soon as they took off, he put on the autopilot, turned to Brian and said "You've got it, right?", leaned his chair back and went to sleep. It's bad enough that I would contact pro standards on my own if he doesn't do it... and that example is just the FIRST day!! Why he didn't say that the CA's behavior was unacceptable then, I'll never know. Has anyone had any experience with this - especially those of you involved with XJT? Thanks! |
