Name: Terri (29)

SO: Married to Chris (31), IAH FO for ExpressJet, he started with XJT in December 2006 is loving it except for the reserve he rather be flying of course. Prior to that he was doing aerial mapping/survying for a company in Birmnigham.

Kids/Pets: We are TTC #1 and no pets due to both of our schedules.

Occupation: I work as the Director of Recruitment and Admissions for a Private Technical College in Little Rock, AR (moved here in Nov.) This job keeps me extremely busy typically work 6 days a week unless I am off on a trip to visit family and friends (thank god for flight benefits). I did work for Southwest Airlines as a recruiter right after grad school. So I have been in and around the airline industry.

Interests: I love to travel, I try to get to the gym when I can. Need to make that more of a priority. When dh is home we love to try new restaurants, see movies and travel together. We both love our families and are very close to them.

Situation: Chris and I got together in High School (Jan. 1994, Austin, Tx.), we grew up three houses apart and our brothers have been friends since 5th grade. He went off to College a year early than me to University of Alabama and I followed. We got married in October of 2001 after I finished Grad School. In 2002 dh decided to wanted a career in flying (always a dream) so we spent 6 months getting ready for it and in Jan. of 2003 he moved to Florida to attend flight school. I stayed in AL due to a great job and we had bought a house. What we thought would be a 9month process took almost two years for all of his licenses and time to instruct to build up hours. Finally in Jan. of 2005 I told him I had enough and he had to come home, thankfully things turned out great and he got a job flying a Multi-engine AC doing aeriel surveying and mapping. Then in November of 2006 I was approached by my company to move to either Memphis or Little Rock for a promotion about that time DH started applying to the regionals and about the time we moved (thinking we were going to be seperated again) he got the call from Express Jet. So I am adjusting to him being home a few days and gone a lot. But we both know in the end it will all be worth it.

Since we moved to Little Rock in Nov. and I don't know anyone so if there is anyone out there from the area I would love to get together.

Terri

I think the biggest thing was he had to work a part-time job while going to school for financial reasons so that took away time from school. Also, rhat was the year there were 2 or 3 hurricanes that hit Florida b/w Aug - Oct so he pretty much was out of training for 5 months b/w the hurricanes and the holidays.

Hey ladies,

I decided to move this info out of the "get to know ya" thread so we can keep that thread to topic...

anyone is welcome to copy a thread from there and start up a new thread elsewhere to ask your questions. it's no problem and if you need help with it, just let me know and i'll show you the way!

if figured with it being aviation related, it'd be better in aviation topics!

Hi there Terri! I'm Jackie and can totally relate to the training thing. DH and I moved to OK for him to go to flight school here, and 18 months turned into 5 YEARS! Total insanity! Anyway, he is with Skywest now and we live in Tulsa, with family halfway between you and I. So, we're not so far apart. What do you think of AR?

Jackie
