| My DH has pretty much not flown in 4 months (b/c of upgrade training and being on leave for our son's birth). He is most likely going to go back to work this next week or the week after (he is waiting to get scheduled). He has been home with us since the start of Feb. We have all really enjoyed it and we don't look forward to him going back to work. DH has always said that he wants to be home more. When he got furloughed, he seriously thought about getting a job outside the industry, but his parents talked him into getting a job with a new airline (I honesty think its b/c of the travel benefits b/c while he was between airlines and while he was in training, my FIL asked me nearly everyday when he would be able to fly for free again...it seemed like that was all he cared about) Well, today, DH told me that once he gets his 1,000 hours of PIC, he is going to seriously think about leaving the industry. He is not really sure what he wants to do...maybe become a cop or a firefighter. He doesn't want a desk job and he wouldn't qualify for one anyway b/c his degree is pretty much for just being a pilot. I think my DH is kind of down right now b/c when he goes back to work, he will be commuting (thats a new thing for us). He is not looking forward to be gone so much. Also, he is really unhappy at SkyWest. In his opinion, the pilots don't get treated very good there....he got treated so much better at his old airline and was really happy there. I really feel bad for him. I'm going to support him no matter what he wants to do. I just want to see him happy again. Maybe he will change his mind about leaving the industry once he gets back in DEN and we have a better QOL?? I have a feeling the next few months will be hard for him as he is gone so much. I think it will be hard for the both of us (so I'll be on here venting a lot! ) We know that our QOL will get better with time.....but DH is not looking forward to what our lives will be like for the next year or so.But if your DH/SO were to do something else...what would they do?
