Default I just hate those short notice trips

I've been working massively hard all week, and I was really looking forward to spending some time with my husband this weekend - well, he was flying on Saturday, but Friday evening and Sunday were ours!

Not so, unfortunately. Crewing have just rung up and offered him a four day trip to the US (which of course financially is very nice) and he's very excited about it, as it's the first time he'll have flown across the pond.

So my weekend is now a gonner. We have friends coming to lunch on Saturday, were doing to spend a day pottering about on Sunday - no longer. And to make it worse, I'm working 7 days next week, so won't get any proper time with my husband for about two weeks.

I know it's great he's got the trip, but I can't help feeling very upset. Yet again I'll spend my time off alone, with very little notice to organise anything else. He's told me he won't go if I mind - but I can hardly ban him, can I? He'll just resent me.

Anyone else ever feel like this?
