He's been with Eagle for over 5 years. Eagle has a lot of Senior pilots that are just not qualified to go anywhere else. They also still have flowbacks from AA due to 9/11. So sorry to be so negative. I don't think that it's much better at any other Regional. I'm just so over the Airline Industry in general. My DH has a 4 year degree from Embry Riddle but no PIC time, so we're stuck.

That is a tough spot, I too have been doing a lot of research with Eagle, know that they have a long upgrade time, and the situation with Senior pilots and we've already started out at XJT, interviewed with PSA, Comair, and Eagle, I know the BF is not liking the idea of Regional flying either (as I am too, in my opinion negativity is swirling all over the airline work envrionment), but he doesn't know where else to get the experience of turbine and PIC in order to get a better corporate job...so he doesn't know what to do either...we have that class date at Eagle for early september, so unless he does major flying with his current boss, it looks like we might head off to DFW...

I hope that it gets better. You can check out this Website:Eaglelounge.com - Forums - Powered by vBulletin. It might give you a better idea of morale at Eagle. If you're going to DFW this is the best Realtor ever. She's based in Coppell. Even for renting, she is outstanding :-)

Not sure if you're interested at all, but my BF just signed on with Piedmont (USAir Express) this past may and he's on he is already off reserve. The pay isnt horrible, they start FO's at about 26 an hour, the hotels are always nice, and once your off reserve, you have a set schedule that they can't mess with. They're really hurting for pilots right now, so they're offering a 5,000 dollar bonus to any pilots that sign on with them now. BF has gotten 100 hours per month (the max) every month since he's been working. If you want more info, I'd be happy to help. They're biggest base is in CLT, NC...not sure how close you are to charlotte....

i missed the turbine part... piedmont flies turbo prop dhc 8's...the training is in CLT and lasted about 5 weeks, paid, and at the end of training, they give you the first part of the 5,000 dollar bonus, you get the second half at the end of your first year.

Thank you Sarah. I will definitely mention it to my husband. He's been with Eagle for soooo long, that it's hard to leave. With 3 kids under 6, we are also so in need of good health insurance, which Eagle has. I'm sure that as soon as he quits things would get better at Eagle too :-) We actually live in CT. We were ready to transfer to DFW, but the Sale of our House just fell through...What can I say, it's not been our year...

strange that you mention this...we DID interview with PSA, we made it all the way while 3 others were sent home, he 'aced' the written, and sim part of the test...SO, I don't know what happened...all I know is that about a week later, we had a single letter in the mailbox...he was more than qualified, meaning that he had the hours...so I don't know...we live like 30 minutes from CLT...there was one question, that they asked him why he was interviewing with them, and the answer that he gave them was, "because I live right here in Charlotte..." there was probably more to the answer, so we don't know...very strange...but somehow the bills have got to be paid, so it looks like he's DFW bound... thanks for your help though...trust me I'd prefer PSA that is, if we had even got an offer!

My honey flies for Mesaba (Northwest Airlink).
Hey Sally and GreenMtnGirl!!
My honey started his training on July 30, also. They were probably in the same ground school class for week #1. My honey is in the CRJ-900. I hope training went/is going well!! :-)
