| Eric is the same way. He's that way about speeding too. I guess I should feel safer for having a husband who is so good about following the rules, but sometimes i just wanna say, "Drive 70 already and get us to church on time......" But anyway .........

| Actually, I think if the TSA makes false accusations, there NEEDS to be reprocussions for that TSA representative. It turned out that this particular pilot did have some alcohol in his system, below legal limits, but it was there. We have not had pleasant experiences with TSA screeners. So many times as a F/A they wanted to dig through my bag, feel my bra, wand my bare feet, etc on a DAILY BASIS. Most were unpleasant, at best, in their demeanor. Bill has had them up in his face, literally inches from his face trying to be the hero who finds the drunk pilot. He has had to actually stop and ask them what they are doing. The TSA screeners need to be held accountable for the accusations they make. If they're right, fine. But if they go accusing pilots of smelling of alcohol, and there's NO alcohol present, they need additional training and/or discipliniary action. If they do it repeatedly, they need to be fired. |

If we start punishing them for false claims (which they can't know for sure til the breathalizer or searches are performed) then they'll start just letting everyone through for fear of being wrong. Then what's to stop pilots from getting blitzed and flying your kids around? Believe me, DH hates them too, and I agree, they've been given too much free reign, i'd just rather see improved training. | |

Pilots are NOT A BUNCH OF CAVALIER DRUNKARDS OUT TO FLY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AROUND DRUNK! Despite what Jay Leno and SNL would like you to believe. Has there even been an airline crash that can be attributed to a drunk pilot? Not one that I can think of. As for the TSA, I'm sorry but if a screener is making repeated false accusations, they need to be fired. Not just one, probably not even two, but if a screener has a history of repeated accusations they are lying and ought to not only be fired but personally sued for slander. I think it would make them be more aware, and want to be really sure of what they're saying. It wouldn't make them afraid to speak up, just make them understand the brevity of their accusations and to make sure they REALLY think they have just cause. | I have to say I agree with the majority on this one. A drink is not worth your career. My husband and I follow this one even at home. Should we have a drink with dinner? Maybe. But even 2-3 is pushing it when it could cost your pilot's license or credibility as a teacher. It is not worth it. |

| I know BF had to pull a Captain aside not too long ago for going beyond the 8 hour rule. However, I also know that long haul tech crew are usually drinking within an hour of touching down - its generously served on crew transport. I'm with MQAAord. Accusations are nearly as bad for a pilot as conviction. |
