Default First flight with DH flying!!

This weekend was fun....

Satuday DH was flying a flight from IAH to DFW and back, so I rode with him from DFW to IAH had dinner there and then we flew home. It was the first flight I have flown with him on a jet.. (haven't flown with him in anything but a Cessna or a Seminole). Funny, DH was a techi computer guy when I married him, and here we are, now he's a pilot for XJet fyling the ERJ.) Amazing the twists and turns life takes!

As we were taking off, I got really emotional and very proud. I wanted to tell everyone on the plane he was my husband. (Good thing I didn't.... I'll explain later).

I think he was excited too! Mack stayed with my mother in law, and I met him early at the gate to get a tour of the cockpit. He showed me all of the buttons, and told me what each of them did in detail.
The flight was flawless, except as we were coming in for a landing at IAH, the plane just started bouncing ALL over the sky. It scared the *&#! out of me(which takes a lot). I thought, 'Oh, Lord, he's nervous and is manually flying the plane, and is just botching this landing completely'. Actually, it was wake turbulence from the plane in front of them. Once we were out of it, it was smooth sailing. I shed a sigh of relief for keeping my trap shut as everyone was trying to resettle themselves in their seats, yet looking rather disgruntled!!

I learned a valuable lesson.... NEVER tell anyone that the pilot is your husband. Because enevitably, good or bad, its the pilots responsibility in the eye of the passenger. So it pays to keep my mouth shut!!

We ate a quick bite at IAH, then jumpseated back to DFW. A little different for a Saturday date night, but just as fun. It was super exciting for me, as it was the first time I really got to experience and share in what DH does. Most of those opportunities had not been available to me since I was so far along in my pregnancy with Mack when he got hired.

I am just now begining to see the benefits for us. Since most of the time
I am just lamenting about the sacrifices...... I can't wait for him to get a hard line!!!!

Thanks for reading- Kimberly
