Default He's home!!

John is finally back from texas! Took him about 10 weeks to do it all. While he was there he got his commercial certificate, his multi engine cert. and his CFI/CFII/MEI. I'm so happy to have him back I was so down in the dumps while he was gone for so long. It's wierd - we've got the distance thing down and can handle a few weeks apart but this was really way WAY too much. I have no idea how some people (Lurker) handle being apart for so long.

I also dread the thought of him one day being hired by an airline and having to be gone for 8 weeks again for training. Oh well, we'll get through it but still hard.

Now, today begins his search of western michigan for someone to hire him. It's kind of a prediciment because he's only going to be instructing until Dec. and then he's moving with me out to Utah where he'll (hopefully) find a more fulltime/permanent job there. He's worried that no one will want to hire him for just 4 months on a part time basis (he's still in school). His plan though is if he doesn't get hired some where to do freelance instruction, BFR's and IPC's. In any case, it's off to the races for him.

meanwhile i'm still stuck at my job beating my head against my desk waiting for patients to arrive and bloods to be processed. BLAH! I can't wait to move! Although, i'm in the process of moving right now back to my parent's house and I hate moving!! I have so much more stuff than I thought, it's crazy! it's mostly staying in boxes though to go on the u-haul in Nov but still a pain!

ack, sorry, this was supposed to be a happy thread and i turned venting. *sigh* ok have a good day everyone!

I dread those training days too but have to remember that there's all types of sacrifices and unfortunately, they never end!

Glad to hear John is home! I was wondering how you were doing with it all and how much longer it was going to be!

are you going to have a big ol garage sale before your move?

That must feel good to have him home after that long!! And these are the things I have to look forward to!!! LOL!!!!! We can do it though.

I know, it's so weird when moving, it's like "how did we get all this crap" I swear, half the stuff in our house, we don't even need!!!!

I was doing ok for about the first 6 weeks or so and then it got really hard to deal with and then he came home at about 8 weeks for a drumline pre-camp (he's section leader this year and had to be here) and I saw him about 16 hours that weekend and then he was gone again until Monday when he came back home (well, to my apartment and then yesterday home for him).

No garage sale for the move - we have no garage!Pretty much stuff is getting tossed or freecycled or boxed in boxes labeled as "MISC" which is my cue to sort them before moving to UT. So far I've taken over half my parent's living room and am pretty much moved out. Basically just have my computer (and associated cords) here as well as my bed, a bookshelf, my desk chair and an easy chair. Laundry, humidifier, fan, alarm clock and cell charger are also still here.

My roommate is acting really strange lately, very petty about stuff that is hers vs mine (like, I packed the pepper corns (to put in the grinder), moved the box home and she asked me to bring it back for her). She's not usually like this, so i'm almost afraid to be around her for fear she'll figureo ut something else of hers I packed. It's like, I'll need a box to take home and unpack all the crap that's hers that i thought was mine. (some of it i still think is mine, but i'm not going to quibble about it, nothing expensive) I'm attributing it to stress of moving plus anxiety over going to peace corps. I dunno.

*sigh* I hate moving! I can't wait to just be done with it and in UT. I also hate my job today as well. perhaps this should be moved to the rant forum -

It must be sooo nice to have John back! Yay! I haven't been away from my bf for that long in, well, a really long time. I'm hoping he's gonna get hired by a regional airline soon, but I'm certainly not looking forward to the long period of separation while he's in training.

Oh ya, I can really sympathize with the pain of moving... I detest it. Good luck!

You are not wrong about hard it is to be apart for so long....I haven't seen my BF for 10 weeks now...he's got another 14 day double shuttle trip starting this week so I get to spend 22 hours with him next Saturday in Singapore (I must be either :c razy: or ). After that - we don't know how long it will be again until the next time :frown: .

I've found that I can cope with seeing him once every 4-6 weeks but then when it goes beyond that, I start entertaining lots of stupid ideas that I won't go into suffice to say I ahve mentioned them on here already...but not helped recently by a phone call from a pilots wife in Australia asking why my number appeared on her husbands bill :speechles ..turns out my BF had borrowed his phone to message me a couple of times on one trip. That kind of paranoia I don't need!!:hair_rais Didn't do much to help my situation I can tell you.

OK - back to planning my South Beach week (and scheduling waxing/facial etc)..gotta look tip top for my man .

Well he has set a timeline to sort out the separation legally and deal with child custody etc..then in the new year we have agreed to focus on our relationship.

I already told him my 'non negotiables' (marriage and kids)..and he hasn't run away yet!

Can't wait to see him again - although his trip got changed yesterday so now our get together is pushed back by a week (but I do gain about another 12 hours with him ).
