| MARK IS UPGRADING! Finally!!!!! But what's the saying? "When it rains, it pours!" The sticky part is the timing. We just moved a couple weeks ago, and the house is still a bit of a shambles. We're inducing this little boy or girl baby outta me the day after tomorrow (Thursday), then his ground school starts on June 9th. He'll be home for less than two weeks! (So much for his five week leave.) Then he's off to training for at least 3 weeks (a couple more for static & sim) I'm going to be all by myself, with two babies!! I know this is a fantastic thing, and we've been waiting for it for 18 months, and he's worked so hard! However, I'm worried about the toddler - she's SUCH a daddy's girl. So much so, that there are days when Mommy just won't do, and I can't placate or soothe her. With the move & the new baby about to invade her life... she's going to really be effected by his 3 week absence. I know she's not the first person to get a sibling & my brain knows she'll be fine. I'm just a little overwhelmed right now. I still haven't packed a bag for the hospital, I've been too busy unpacking the house (as fast as I can waddle from room to room, that is). Maybe I'll hire a teenager to help me out a little, & to play with the toddler a few days a week, since school's out for the summer. Enough about me! Mark is upgrading & will be based in Chicago during his training. He hopes to bid strait back to Denver or Colorado Springs (a new domicile starting in September). If it works out that way, he'll have to commute for just a couple months, which we can handle in the normal scheme of things, but it will be a little challenging with the kids' needs. My brain is spinning, and I almost don't notice that my ankles have swollen to the size of tree trunks, and that I still haven't unpacked my bedroom closet. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Have you gotten any books on how to be a big sibling? I know I am a book dork that works in a book store, but there are soem great ones. There are even books that get filled out with Baby and me information that is like a memory book just for the sibs (of course it has to be filled out with mom or dads help) |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I would also totally suggust hiring someone to be a "mother's helper" You're still at home taking care of the new baby while s/he plays with the toddler or s/he can take care of the new baby while you give the toddler some "mommy time" I did the mother's helper thing for a while, and it was nice because it gave the mom someone to help her out, and then in a few months (or however long) you have someone you know and trust to babysit for you. I'd ask any of your new neighbors who have kids if they have anyone to reccomend for you or even if their kids are old enough to do it. good luck with the delivery!!! |

Try not to think of all the things that are going to happen. You just goot a go with the flow. When I had my second, my baby was only 14 months old. It was crazy. then dh went off to training, All I could do was think about all the things that could happen and was going to happen. I wanted to cry. I joined a play group and just did things at my pace and took things as they came along. Hugs to you! Good luck with the delivery, and congratulations on the upgrade! Keep us posted on how things are! We are here for you!
