Default Re: Interview(s)

Nope- no type. DH didn't want to do it because all it is a guaranteed interview basically.....and 8000$ is a lot for an interview. We have known quiet a bit of guys from Express that have got hired without their type. Another reason why he didn't want to get the type was because other airlines don't like it...they see that you want to work for Southwest and no their airline. He has heard people say it has come up in the interview "oh, I see you have a type in the 737 but you've never flown for an airline that has it. Did you get it because you want to go to Southwest?".

He does have 3 types from Express (Beech, Brasilla and Jet) so at least it shows he is trainable! He also has over 6000TT and 2500 Jet PIC and 2900 Turbine PIC.

Hoping he has a good interview day! He looks at it that way....if he got an interview, they want to hire him, he just has to show they why he is a good fit for their company. And after reading the book NUTS! It is definitely Brendan!

Yeah! Now the fun starts, getting together all the paperwork the airlines require. I will definetly cross my fingers and toes for you both.

He certainly has the hours!! That's awesome!

Thanks for the info about the type rating too... that will prove helpful in the future. I have seen a number going to SW from the crackpipe, so hopefully they are really leaning towards our Express guys!

I'll have to get Brian started early on the SW interview, hehe. It was rather interesting how much his point of view changed once he started working for XJT. Before that, he saw Southwest as the enemy that was making things hard for the other airlines by being a low-cost carrier... now he's coming around. From what little I know of their corporate culture, he would fit right in.
