Default IMO, it's an incurable disease.

Anyone know how to get rid of insomnia? Last week, I was struck with a case of it and I haven't been able to shake it. I swear, I'm having hallucinations and my vision keeps going and then coming back.

I need sleep and I need help!

Have you tried any Tylenol PM, which has Benadryl in it, or just plain Benadryl?
Having hallucinations and visual changes is significant unless you have been up the whole entire past week. IF you are truly having those symptoms and/ or you have been up the whole week - you should be seen right away as that is much more than just "insomnia".

I think it was two yrs ago I had this problem. it was so bad I looked like death. My joints hurt me, my skin was awful, I was shaky, and I just could not go to sleep. I was tired, but couldn't. Not good if you have 2 kids and a hubby that is gone a lot. I tried Tylenol PM, but I was beyond needing Tylenol. Everyone thought that I was sleep deprived cause I was alone, a bit of tress and had my mommy ears on at night.
I had hit bottom, I called the doctor and got seen immediately. I had blood work done and then he gave me a 3 days supply of sleeping pills to help me regulate my sleep. If that wouldn't help me then I was going to have to go to a sleep clinic and see if I had some sort of sleep apnea. I did that. I spent one night at my in laws all alone with no interruptions and then went home for the next 2.
I can now sleep and on occasion I cannot sleep even with an over the counter pill. So, I get help from my doctor once a yr whn needed. Now I am sooo tired from being a mommy of three I don't need any assistance!

Take care of yourself. Be careful driving an cooking. Call the doctor!

((hugs)) Brenda

aw man! I was going to suggest a cup of hot tea and a bubble bath but it seems way beyond that huh? I too, think you should just go ahead and call the Dr. Who can function like that? Good luck! Let us know what the Dr. says.

Oh wow, that takes me back. The first four months of Em's life she didn't sleep more than 20min. at a time. Every night I saw gigantic spiders on the wall, a large man standing at the foot of my bed, HUGE butterflies or bats. At first it scared the crap outta me, then I got to where I knew I would have them and got used to them.

Hopefully the doc can give you something to sleep!!! Let us know how it goes (when you wake up)

I've been having that problem for a day or two after coming back from Budapest... just seems that, this time, i can't seem to get re-regulated... i go to bed around 11 or midnight... awake at 3am and can't get back to sleep
