kidney transplant

I thought I recalled someone on the board telling me that they use to work with transplant patients. So, I was hoping between you and dana, you guys might be able to give me more information.

I got the phone call the other day from my son's nephrologist. I wasn't expecting this call for about 2 years, but got it the other day. Labs are bad, and we can plan on a transplant in about 6 to 12 months. My son is 7 years old. So, here's my question: what is the typical length of hospital stay? We will be discussing this more with his doc at next appointment, but any.questions you can give me to ask so I could have heads up on things would be appreciated.
