Vitamins make me sick!" He laughed and said, "That's silly, I am going to buy you a multivitamin." So he did. He came to work with a womans one a day multivitamin. I took it yesterday and felt sick all day. I took it in the afternoon and went to bed feeling nauseous. Then I took one today (both times with food) and had to carry a trash can with me because I felt like I was going to throw up any minute. It was bad.

My question is, is this a common reaction to multivitamins. This seems to happen to me no matter what kind I take. I take it with food. I follow the the directions. It kills me. If it is common or even if it isn't, why is my body reacting this way? Any insight would be nice.

Thank you!
MVI's are very likely to cause nausea. It may be the iorn, calcium, or other minerals in them that cause the nausea. I take Centrum Silver for that reason. They dont have Iorn in them. Helps to decrease constipation as well.

The chewable ones are fine... If you are PG, make sure you are taking 1 mg of folic acid if you are not able to take the prenatal vitamin. Folic acid should be taken by any woman of child bearing age who may become PG. It helps to decrease risk of central nervous system anomalies....
