Default Looking for a new dentist

My dentist for the past 10 years is retiring. He was so wonderful, I hate to see him go. He had the best office hours too, noon-8:00pm!!

I have had a ton on dental work (cursed with bad genes, something like 10 root canels and 8 crowns) and I am sure there is more on my horizon. I don't know how I am going to find another good dentist. Dentist just don't do it all in office anymore. They send you somewhere else for this proceedure and somewhere else to have this done. Who has got time for that!?! I am sure it is liability issues but when you are a pro at dental work what should be 2 visits turns into 4. And when you are working, it is just not reasonable to take that much time off from work. Grrr!

Hubby is having tooth troubles right now, needs a root canel. He went to a McDentist (I tried to tell him it was a waste of time). They said that they do it all in office but they wouldn't do a root canel for him since he was a pilot. Something about air getting into the canels and that if it is not released he will have painful pressure issues from going up and down in planes (kinda like pressure in the ears is the example they told him). I told him it sounded like a bunch of bull and that they just didn't want to "guarntee" their work. Anybody else heard of this?

Any suggestions on finding a good dentist that does it all in office?
