| Member | Hi Dana, I have an appt. with my OB next month for my annual and we're going to talk about birth control. I was wondering if you could give me some options and i'll do some research on those so I can talk to her about it when i'm there. There's so many options I just want to be prepared somewhat. I would like to only have a few periods/year. DH and don't plan on trying to concieve for at least two years (and maybe never, I haven't decided yet). However, BCPs with high estrogen contents tend to give me terrible headaches. Do I have any options for BCPs with low estrogen that will only give me a few periods/year? Also, would it be so terrible if I went on a "regular" BCP and just always skipped the placebos? I've done it a couple of times for events that I didn't want my period for, but never longterm. Would that be a bad thing? I wish instead of tube tying when we're done having kids they'd just remove the uterus so I wouldn't have anymore periods.. but, yes, I know the risks... just wishful thinking on my part. LOL! |
