I have not heard that the 3 mo packs have any more risk of stroke than any other type of BC. I think that if that were true, it would be all over the new, medical jounals, etc. Breakthough bleeding with these types of pills are very common and one of the drawbacks. OUr body seems to tolerate us tricking it for a month, a lot of women don't do well going 3 months. One of the most common reasons women stop the 3 month pills. If I hear of anything about increase strokes on the 3 mo pill. I will post it. D

| I've been on Seasonique since the birth of my daughter last August. I have had no problems with it, other than my insurance-United Health Care-not wanting to cover it. Occasionally I forget to take a pill, but that's not very often. Otherwise, the periods are mild, last like 4 days, and, no migraines or other problems to speak of. I was on the OrthoEvra patch after the birth of my son in 2004. I had horrendous migraines every month and I quit using it. I read about the reported side effects that women were having and I did not want to risk stroking out. Anyway, I recommend the Seasonique. It's nice NOT to have a period every month!

| Stacey, Seasonique is the one my doctor ended up putting me on. I was going to get Seasonale, but my insurance wouldn't cover it. I called her office and she said that they had some samples in the office and gave me a 6 month supply. She said call her in 6 months and she'll give me 6 more months worth!!! I just started it so, so far so good. I have had a mild headache the last few days, but I have a UTI and a cold so that could be the problem. Glad to hear that you're happy with it!!!! |

| i had the mirena implant put in about 12 weeks after the birth of my second daughter. so far...it's been pretty good... - some discomfort upon insertion and during the procedure (didn't compare to childbirth!) - i had some really really light bleeding for about the first 6 weeks (rarely needed anything to "control" it...just on the TP...TMI??) - i occasionally have some what i would call breakthrough very light bleeding, but no period...yipee! my midwife swears by this method...loves it herself and says that she will get a new one every 5 years until she no longer needs it. i haven't had any problems with it...just thought i'd add my 2 cents...let me know if you have any ?s...

With the Mirena, you are less likely to have a period. They are only good for 5-7 yrs, Paragaurd good for 8-10 (if I remember correctly).

| I always had a difficult time remembering to take my pill. Now, I use the nuvaring. I love it. Little to no spotting. Easy to insert. It is expensive, my insurance doesn't over it, but it is worth it. |
