I was at a store yesterday and cut my finger and thumb on some broken glass. The thumb is ok, not too much more than a bad paper cut. But the index finger is pretty bad. I sliced from the tip to the first bend, pretty deep. The sliced skin didn't come totally off either. Boy does it hurt!!! I can't touch anything with it. I did the whole perxoid, neospuran, and bandaid thing. Been changing it ever so often trying to keep it clean. But I am wondering if I need something more. I woke up last night, it was bleeding through the bandaid. I can't bend the finger really well. I sure can't touch it to anything. I don't think there is any glass in it, but I am not really sure how I would know. I can't imagine that a dr would stitch it or be able to do anything more to it then I already have. How do I know if I need to see a dr? What can a dr do, or would I be wasting my money? How long will it take before it is not so horrible to touch stuff?

I remember slicing my thumb this summer. It hurt so bad. I cut it with a knife. It was also pretty deep. I actually ended up at the Dr for something else so I asked him about it and he said that it looked clean and that it didn't need stitches. I think that if it is still bleeding tonight then maybe tomorrow morning you might want to get it checked out and just see what they say. Just my .02 ![]() I hope that it feels better soon!

My boss noticed me fumbling around (I can't write, type or ten key very well since I can't touch anything to it) and sent me over to the free clinic for state employees at lunch. I still had a bit of glass in it. The NP probed and poked and got it out with tweezers. OUCH!! Cleaned everything up. And told me it should feel better now. It hurts from all the digging around, but I hope that I am now on the road to recovery.

Glad you got it seen into. Just make sure you have good movement of the joint and finger. Need to be sure you didn't cut your tendon. Watch for swelling, redness, etc.
