Default Different "types" of headaches

Dana,

Just to understand more about the different types of headaches we could have... is it ALWAYS a sinus headache if it reverberates around the crown of the head (back/top of head to mid-forehead)?? if we have numbness and/or that fireworks/bubble popping feeling (pressure related), is that a good indication that it's sinus related? What are some things we should know that would help us pinpoint what type of headache we're starting to have so that we can take the correct med?

here's why i'm wondering....
I've had somewhat of a headache for two days..more discomfort wise/numbness from back/top of head to mid of forehead (temple area).I am still thinking it was on onset of a cold since my drainage went haywire and major fatigue/lack of appetite set in (zicam is awesome as far as the cold symptoms go!!), so i tried excedrin first (since that's normally what i do with a "head"ache) and it didn't do a thing...tried bayer after that thinking maybe thinning the blood might help since it's just head pressure/discomfort and esp since excedrin didn't work and esp since it felt like pressure was being relieved in certain locations at certain times (kinda felt like a bubble popping type thing)... that didn't do anything...tried tylenol after that since tylenol is recommended for "any type" of pain/discomfort and that didn't work...at that point (this afternoon), i figured it must be sinus related (?) and so, i took sinus headache meds and that seems to have worked as it's still somewhat numby but not as uncomfortable as earlier...

you'd think i'd have this headache business down, but doing the above shows me that i obviously don't have the hang of it yet...the main reason i want to know is just so i take the correct over the counter med next time.
