Default Re: Short window for conception??

I bought the ovulation predictors for the first pregnancy. I think it took 3 months. For the next 5 (with exception of my 4th), I was trying not to get pregnant. Yes, I love all my kids, but I definetly wasn't trying. This has been my longest wait before pregnancy (my youngest is about 15 months and not pregnant yet). My furthest apart children are about 16 months. My advice if you are trying or preventing is to know your body. For the past 6 years I did not. Then I bought some book on natural family planning and I am surprised at what I didn't know about my body. The cervical mucus is a big thing. Also, the theory about having a boy while you are ovulating and having a girl if you have sex before ovulation has been right everytime with us. When I do plan on having another baby, if I have a difficult time, I will be sure to check the cervical mucus and also have the ovulation predictors on hand. I am too lazy to do the temperature thing.

I am sure you already know this, but make sure you are already taking a prenatal vitamin.

Stress can lead to not getting pregnant, so as difficult as it sounds, try not to get stressed out about it. We have a friend that said his wife was so focused on getting pregnant that it turned into a "Got to make the doughnuts" commercial.
