Remember, the pill is just hormones, and yes, they can make you moody, tearful, breasts tender, etc, just like being pregnant. You might want to try a different brand/type and see if you have better luck. That is not that an uncommon side effect and usually, we can find one that will work for you. Novo ring is another good option. It is a ring that is placed around the cervix. Most women tolerate it very will with minimial if any side effects.

I was on ortho tri cyclen before that and it made me never want sex, and kinda defeated the purpose of being on it! (sorry if that is tmi). I guess I should try another one... I have some issues with all that anyway. I had an ovary removed when I was 17. I had a 12 lb cyst. (yeah, its my claim to fame ) So I heard I should take bc just so I don't grow one on the other one, some people think that it prohibits cyst growth or something. I suppose I'll go back to the doc once we get insurance again and see what I should do. Is it true that one will take over and do the work of both? Thats what the docs tell me, but I don't know if I believe it. hmm...

that's what i've heard...one will take over for the one that's not working correctly..like double timing it! haha

have you tried ortho cyclen? i tried ortho tri years and years ago and it made me a madwoman (too much estrogen or something).. ortho cyclen settled it down A LOT!

I still have libido problems even being on yasmin now.. figure it's all in my head at this point! haha

Yes, it's true. I had a 6cm cyst/tumor on my left ovary (had 1/2 of it removed). My doc said that ovary hadn't worked for quite some time, but the other one took over. Which explained why I was only getting menstrual cramps on my right side.

I also had to go on bc to try to prevent another one from appearing on the other ovary. I did that for a few years. I haven't been on bc in a while (since Dec. 03) and I worry about it sometimes. I had my doc "check" at my annual appt. last October and she didn't feel any masses on either ovary. And when I got pg with Emily, she did an ultrasound on my very first visit (because of the ovary issue) and she double checked them then (she did a transvaginal ultrasound). So that eased my mind alot.

I am having some minor fertility issues right now, and have a appt tomorrow with my PCP but if those labs don't lead to anything i'm going to go back to my OB and have her check things (including my ovaries).

Good luck!!! I hope you find something that works.

I had irregular cycles when I was on the orthotricyclen lo... I had originally gone on it because of libido issues. I just started using NuvaRing two months ago and I LOVE it! Cycles have been normal, no pill to remember, and have only had minor mood swings, lol. You know, no more than usual.

Hmm... well I can't really say - I think that half of my libido issue in the past was just not finding my ex attractive, lol!! He gained 60 lbs in the time we were together (a little less than 3 years). Yikes!
