Default Knee injury, courtesy of a 3 year old

Hi Dana!

Thanks for your time in volunteering here! Your husband's forum over on JC has been VERY helpful for us on a couple occasions

Here's a question for you:

A few months ago, I was sitting indian-style on the floor, so m y knees were about 3 inches off the floor and bent. My 3 year old (about 32 pounds) walked/stepped on my right knee, pushing it to the floor and I felt a funny slipping in the joint, something came dislocated. I reached down, put the knee 'back together', and it didn't ever really hurt. But ever since then, when I walk up the stairs that knee makes an awful grinding noise . What did I do to my knee?! Is it damaged?
