Ask A Nurse Practitioner

Say Hello to Dana...

Dana is our resident Nurse Practitioner. She is a practicing nurse in the PHX area and is also wife to a PHX AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) who assists Jetcareers.com with their aviation related medical questions.

Feel free to ask anything you would normally ask your personal nurse.

Smile Hello to all

Hello to all and thank you for your warm welcome. I am EXCITED to be a part of this family! As Kristie has already stated, I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and am married to Walt Forred, MD from My Flight Surgeon.com who hosts the “Ask A Flight Surgeon” forum on JetCareers.com. I am also a private pilot with all my time in tail-draggers.

I work for a medical group providing primary care to indigent patients in Maricopa County in Phoenix, AZ. My areas of special interest are women’s health, adolescent, and pediatric care. I provide the primary health care for 300 children with behavioral problems who are in residential treatment facilities, many of them under court order. The remainder of my time is spent in Family Health Centers operated by the public hospital system in Phoenix.

I will try to answer your questions with a general, evidence-based overview of the topic. The information provided is meant for your education and should not be considered specific treatment information for your situation. That is best left to your personal health care provider who knows your full medical history. I am excited to be a part of Pilot Families and look forward to your questions and comments.
