If phoning is uncomfortable, you may try this approach.

Write a note thanking them for the first interview, and tour of the facility (if this was done) State something specific about the company that you feel positively about/admire, and then restate why you believe that you are the perfect fit for their company's needs, and why their company is a good fit for your needs as well. I have done this on 2 competitive jobs and been offered both!!
