Thats the only reason I know of -- my grandmother has one and uses it on occasions when she is having us over for dinner, she makes dinner in one while making dessert at the same time in the other. It does seem very convenient. My mom is constantly complaining that she wishes she had one.

My aunt also has the double and uses it for her cookie business - it just helps her make more in a smaller amount of time.

Other than that, I have no idea?
