some decent news compared to all the furlough news lately...
Word on the front is that Delta is going to be expanding their international routes, taking on more planes and resuming hiring in the fall. they're going to pull back on domestic (ie: regional flying) and move more towards the international scene since that seems to be where the $$ are.
with that, if your hubby has the *time* AND *4 yr degree* required by Delta, it would be a good idea to get an application in before other furloughees hit the street.
I feel bad for all those being furloughed, we're hoping it doesn't happen at DAL but you just never know....in lieu though, i want to make sure everyone that has an opportunity, takes it....if you even think hubby might get furloughed and has what's required at DAL, get the app in so it's near the top of the stack instead of at the bottom.
If hubby doesn't have a degree and is going to be furloughed, it may be an opportunity for them to get a degree so they can not only advance with a good backup career but can also get into the majors later on. I hear that there might be a type of grant or something for furloughees going back to school, i just don't know enough about it.
Also, word is that there's an agreement between DAL & NWA pilots... I'm waiting to hear what that word is...optimistic for both sides to end up in a win-win situation.
what's funny is even with NWA coming on board, DAL says they're going to resume hiring....interesting eh?!
