Re: AirTran Furloughs I recently spoke w/ a friend of the family who is a FedEx FO. He said FedEx is currently using AirTran's approach, rather than furloughing a bunch of pilots and keeping the remainder ultra busy. Instead this method is a sort of "share the wealth" approach. He gets his minimum hours and welcomes it as an opportunity to be at home more w/ his family this summer.
Btw, I flew AirTran to Ohio and back for a long weekend. Their 737s are super nice. Their 717s though left a lot to be desired. Overall their service was great and I'd definitely fly them again in a pinch when non-revving may not be a good idea or worth the stress. |
