go with a full bladder...believe me, i was sent out because my bladder was not full enough for one of my ultrasounds! they use the full bladder during some ultrasounds to determine locations of "stuff" and possibly measurements. they will let you leave to "relieve" yourself in the middle of the ultrasound and have you come back to finish. not so bad...
it is fun to have a little caffeine or sugar before the ultrasound, baby moves around quite a bit more...but i'm not sure if that would make determination of the sex more difficult?? or if baby was in a bad spot to start with...would the moving around make it easier?? just something to consider...
also...bring along a videotape (blank)...some (note: SOME) have the option of video recording the ultrasound. we have a video from my first and it (although it's hard to figure out what's what...) is so cool to go and see her moving around in utero.
