We've always given a dose of Tylenol before shot appts. They still cry but it helps with the after pains.

And not to sound like a mean cold brat--but I've had shots in the mom muffin, 5 to be exact, on 2 different occasions. So I tend to not be to heart broken over shots in the leg. LOL.
