My dh and I left Hollywood Florida about 6 years ago. We wanted a bigger house and more privacy and a little bit of land. So we moved to Tennessee, seriously out in the boonies, but we got a nice, well sort of nice, it was a fixer uper, but it has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and more storage than I could ever fill up. We also have 5 acres and a 2 acre pond, a barn and a waterfall. All for less than 100,000 dollars.

Sounded great then, but now with the gas prices...well, you can imagine what our gas expense is. But with the housing market the way it is, we're stuck. There's houses here that have been for sale over a year. And with gas the way it is, people are wanting to move closer to the city, not further away.

Our only saving grace is how little we paid for the place. Selling for us is not an option. We either ride it out and hope gas drops back down, or walk away.
