News about the economy and the airline industry are making us more & more cautious, so we sat down together and made a real, on paper budget for the first time. It’s amazing where the money really goes! Now we're squeezing money out wherever we can.

Any “extra” money we can find we’re putting in an emergency account. My goal is to get 6 months living expenses set aside. DH thinks this is too conservative. He thinks 3 months will suffice. Either way, if something happens, we want to cover our house payment and health care until we could get back on our feet.
