Default Don't you love it when your kids......

When your kids do something new and suprise you with it? I loved this phase with DD when she would use new words I had no idea she knew or did new things (physical type things) that I didn't know she could do. Well, this morning, DS surprised me with 2 new things.

I was downstairs when I heard DS start to cry. It was the kind of cry that made me think he kind of hurt himself, but he quicky stopped, so I didn't think much more of it. A few min later, I hear a light switch flip and see the light is on for the stairs. I figured DD did it since a switch is right outside her door and she has just woken up too.

I walk over to the stairs and there is DS (who is 14.5 mo) almost to the bottom. I could't believe it. This is the first time I've had a kid climb out of a crib. I had no idea that he was even trying to do something like this. Secondly, I had no idea he could walk down the stairs...and I mean walk like anyone else walks down the stairs (while he was holding onto the wall). I can't believe his little legs are long enough for that. This was his first time ever going down the stairs like that.

I am just really thankful that he didnt get hurt climbing out of his crib or going down the stairs. But it was a huge surprise to see him just standing there at the bottom of the stairs when I was expecting him to be in his crib. I called DH to tell him and he wasn't so happy about it.
