Re: Baby furniture and bedding We use to live by a Pottery Barn Outlet, so I have some of the bedding from there; BUT, I see very unused pottery barn bedding sets on Craig's list all the time. Looks practically new. As far as furniture, we have a very nice sleigh crib that my siblings got for us at Babies R' Us, but we haven't used it for the last 4 or so babies. The one I love is a smaller version that is white metal and folds up. Someone told me to skip the changing table (we couldn't afford a lot then, so this was good advice for us). Our babies tend to like to come around the house whereever we are and sit in their infant carseats at a very young age. We actually bought a new swing and infant carrier with this baby...target.
My advice about the room decor and such...think about how you want to decorate it. Get some catalogs from Pottery Barn and Land of Nod (very good decor ideas). Then, find the bedding and such that matches your idea.
Something that I have never had, but I want badly, is a glider. Someone told me that Dutalier is the most comfortable brand, but since I don't have one, I can't recommend the brand.
Oh, and those baby stores and articles tend to say that you must have this and that....so, not true. You need a carseat. You need a safe place for the baby to sleep. The baby needs you. You don't need all the extras. Some may be nice to have, but definetly not needed. Oh, and don't buy too many newborn diapers because they grow out of them quite fast. Stock up when they have sales, but don't get a lot of the early ones. |
