Lol, sorry to keep you hanging...I think there was actually a separate thread on the result of this. It turned out to be a moot point because it was a holiday weekend and he couldn't get me a seat on a flight out there. He had to come to me, instead.
We did talk about why I was upset about the situation. It came down to me saying that there aren't a whole lot of good reasons to say, "I'd like to see you,
BUT..." Work is a good one. Attendance at a funeral.
The birthday party of a girl he casually dated does not make the list.
He wanted to be clear that he never meant to say I couldn't come, he just wanted me to know that he'd made this other plan, which he also said he was happy to break because it was no big deal. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
