Wow, Michelle, how frustrating to have FIL have so much say in your lives. However, even with DH gone for a few months, it does kind of sound like a pretty good plan. Where will your DH be staying? Will there be room for you guys once school is out (when does school end there?)

I will tell you that not everybody winds up on reserve when entering a regional. In Aug 06 (and of course things are constantly changing) DH started at SkyWest. He was put in the Brazilla (30 pax prop plane) and based out of Palm Springs, CA. Since no one really wants to be in PSP he had a line from the start. Of course there were challenges -we found a man to rent a room from b/c it wasn't commutable, and b/c it wasn't commutable he was gone six days at a time for four day trips. It was rough in its own way but better than being on reserve. The first year everybody gets paid the same whether they are in the Brazilla or the CRJ. After a year he put in for the Jet and Denver and got both! Its been a godsend for us and totally doable.

So, take heart in having a specific plan. Yes there are questions of what the industry will be like in a few months but that will always be the case. Yes, it will totally be a challenge having DH gone especially with three kids but IT CAN BE DONE. The good news is that you don't have to move and you have family there to help.

Thinking of you
Jackie
