24 hours would be a normal hospital stay after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery here in the UK, some people leave in as little as 6 hours though. We have midwife visits at home daily usually for the first week though to check up on you and baby so the aftercare is in place once you leave the hospital. I had Felicity at home and the midwives left about 1hr30mins after the birth and came back about 24 hours later to check on us.
