Likely that is a regional issue. Most of the time Circ's are done by Peds or Family Practice. Some OB's do them, although I have not heard of a lot.

MAKE SURE YOU ASK how many they have done and will they be the ones doing the procedure or will someone else do it (i.e. a resident). There is nothing wrong with a resident doing them as long as they are properly supervised.

It is a surgical procedure and there are risks and complications.
Gross negligence (sp) is something far different.....
