Reading the first article made my blood boil. Very glad to see the response article.

The public perception of flying as a career is a bunch of bull (as evidence by the thread that containes all the stupid comments/questions asked of pilots and pilot families). But even that perception amazes me. Most everyone has had a horrible day at the airport during normal travels. Every business traveler knows the feeling of the dreaded business trip. Yet why do people not reconcile that pilots have the same horrible experiances almost everyday, every trip? You couldn't pay me enough (not saying they are paying hubby enough but any means) to spend my day, every day, with the TSA, flying public, airport food, lugging heavy bags around, waiting, and hotel rooms (yuck!)!!
