Default Re: Where did you meet your hubby/s.o.?

I loved reading all these!

I met my husband when I was a working flight attendant on a trip thanksgiving eve to dublin ireland ( he was a FO on the crew ) . I had just moved myself out of a third floor trap of an apartment in west chester pennsylania...exausted I barely made my trip.

I was at one of those times in my life where I felt something had to give. I was dying to meet a guy that was kind, sweet and grounded but shared a desire for travel and adventure...a special kind of free spirit that I never found in guys i dated where i was.

I was waiting at my gate for the crew to show and up cruised my Hubby-to-be. I thought he was adorable and kind...but a bit older than me. We were both kind of struck and just made a few silly jokes and small talk. He had a sincerity I picked up immediately..but I never really looked for love at work and always assumed people had families at home or whatever - you never know their story.

We made it to dublin and it was thanksgiving day and the crew was throwing around plans for dinner. I still thought he was adorable when he asked me directly if i would be there...I said that I would see. Turns out I crapped out like a loser and stayed in. I was tired and though I felt something, I just felt maybe I was wrong about it. Can't explain, besides I am pretty conservative that way.

The next morning he said to me directly on the van to the a/p that he missed seeing me at dinner. I just smiled and made some excuse about being tired from moving etc...that started us talking and I just found him adorable...
Right when we were about to take off the flight attendant in the jumpseat across from me was saying what a cool f/d crew they were and she was so glad to be flying with them all month..and that she had another dublin trip the next day. As soon as I got home, I traded my schedule to be on the dublin the next day to see Steve again. I just had this feeling and we were both really lucky our schedules coordinated that way for once in this business...

The next night same deal, the crew gathered and we made eye contact and he was blushing up a storm, as I am sure I was. He later admitted when he checked his crew list that he saw my name and was totally thrilled, but he felt I was way too beautiful for him. Of course, I thought he was just way too cool and everything else for me!

We got to dublin and he again asked if I would be down for dinner and teased me about last time. He even called my room 2 hours after we got in to make sure I would be there -- very sweet even though I was sound asleep! he later told me he was too excited to sleep even after the trek over the pond.

I for sure made it to dinner and drinks this time. My husband and I just had a spark and connection from the start. what I loved initially about him was how kind and respectful he was to everyone. he had a type of charm and way about him not found today it seems..even though we were completely different in so many ways; he had been married and through a super painful divorce, I had never even lived with anyone, and we had a decent age gap. But it just worked for us!

The crew went out for indian food and he sat right next to me. i had way too much wine but not too much to remember him affectionately place his hand on my knee at dinner several times or help me with my coat.

the next morning at breakfast he made a point to say how great dinner was and offered to take me flying sometime... or to help me
study ( I was taking flying lessons here and there ) and we exchanged numbers.

I can definitely say he is my greatest ' thankful for ' each thanksgiving ..and to this day my name and a special note he made hold a place logged in his log book from those trips.
