Sorry--I apologize, it was late and a long day and I was confused! Charlie does hold a line, although a line can sometimes have a reserve day thrown in. He was talking about getting Junior Manned on a day off since they have so many trips open that day.

He did talk about another issue with a carry in problem for July. In their contract you have options on how to deal with carry in's. He chose option 3 which is any conflicts are on them--they get to do anything. But, in exchange, you are guaranteed your line value. But he forgot that he had a 30/7 problem. So they took the rest of his trip away and he doesn't work July 4th. So he now gets about 8 hours for no work. But now, he can't swap any other trip during the month because they it becomes a drop and add and he loses time.

I haven't figured it out yet either!

They added another of his beloved FiFi's to the fleet two days ago and he got to fly it brand spankin new. It even smelled like a new Bus, he said. Her name is The Spirit of Jamaica. Fortunately, the airline is 100% hedged for fuel, but they still can't wait to get rid of the gas guzzling MD 80's.
