ok, so if i'm correct Jan.. your saying the min guarantee is if you don't get a line that totals 60 hrs -> then you still get paid for the 60 total hours even though you didn't fly them?
and if you drop a trip, the min guarantee doesn't apply.
hmmm.. i thought the FAA max was 85...again, learned something new! haha
DAL is the same way where they won't allow drops unless they have enough reserve to fill in.
geez.. that capt has it all and he still complains - how sad is that?!

Kristie,
The min guarantee at XJT is 75 hours but you are allowed to trip trade or personal drop down to 60 hours. If you reduce your line in this way, you also reduce your paycheck!
If you are awarded a line that is scheduled for under the min guarantee (75 at XJT)you are still paid min guarantee. It is not his fault that the company built the lines that way! There are usually only a couple times when there are a few of those, like when mainline has a schedule change and cuts out alot of flights.
In the old contract they had, you were only able to trade a trip if the trip you were trading for was no more than 2.5 hours less than your original trip and you would still get paid min guarantee. Some guys figured out they could do this over and over again, end up with a line worth about 40 hours and then pick up trips on their "new" days off that went towards add pay. So they found a loophole in the sytem and used it! Hey the company would use any loophole they found! Of course with the new contract that loophole was closed!
