Yup, if you didn't get a line that meets minimum, you would still get paid minimum. Believe me, only a few foolish airlines did that! The rest built lines to meet the minimums!

Yes, if you drop a trip, the minimum doesn't apply. For example, DH's line this month is built to minimum. But they need to drop a pairing due to time out issues. That means he still gets his minimum. But if he tries to drop anything this month, he would lose. Of course if he gets junior manned on his one reserve day (a likely possibility), he gets free hotel plus overtime.

I hope by now--11 years later, that that captain is long gone! And I hope the likes of him are long gone!
