Default Girl Raped On School Bus

Recently in my local area, a girl was raped/assualted on a school bus. There have been many articles about it in the newspapers. When it first happened everyone was outraged. Now parents want moniters on the buses. And I heard on the radio this morning about the legislatior thinking about passing some new laws.

I am still so shocked that on a school bus with 60 students, no other students came to the girls assistance. One article I read said that you could hear the girl yelling for help on the tape and see her reaching out and asking for help from another student on the bus.

IMOP, new laws and monitors on the school bus are not going to fix the growing problem of everyone "going with the flow" or taking no personal action to help another person in distress. I don't have any childern, but I would like to think that if I did I would take more pride in my child being a "good citzen" than being the smartest kid in the class.

Here are couple of the articles. . .
